A Roanoke home was damaged by fire late Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called around 10:30 a.m. to a home at 5268 E 900 N, just east of Roanoke and U.S. 24, on a report of a fire.
Smoke could be seen rising from the second story of the home. Authorities said fire was found in the attic.
The fire destroyed half of the roof of the home, WANE 15 learned. The fire was contained within an hour, authorities said.
Four fire departments responded to the fire, with several fire engines and emergency vehicles. Onlookers watched firefighters work from just off the roadway.
The owners of the home were able to escape, and no injuries were reported. The cause is unknown.
