The victim said she and Ruch had sex at her house in the living room while her parents were asleep.
The victim said the defendent was aware of her age because they had discussed her upcoming “sweet 16 birthday.”
According to the victim’s stepmother, Ruch was a volunteer firefighter in New Haven and she stopped at the station prior to speaking with police.
WANE 15 has confirmed that Ruch resigned from the New Haven Fire Department in 2018 after not working there for “long at all.” The official we spoke with would not give any comment on the case.
Xavier Porter, who served alongside Ruch in the guard from 2008 to 2014, was stunned by the news.
“When I saw that I was honestly in shock,” he said. “Honestly part of me was like there’s no way. There’s no way. And it was. And it’s really disappointing and disheartening to see that.”
WANE 15 spoke briefly with Ruch’s wife tonight. She said that Ruch has cheated on her multiple times during their relationship. She said they had filed for divorce and it will be finalized this week.
In the court documents, the victim also said Ruch was not the only adult she had sexual relations with.
