FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A fun-filled afternoon that will leave you feeling refreshed, inspired, and empowered. That’s what you can expect at Girls Empowering Girls.

Olivia Fabian joined First News Sunday to talk more about the event.

The event is at Fancy and Staple in Downtown Fort Wayne on April 29th. There will be a Brunch by GK Baked Goods and Affine Food Truck. It includes one starter, one entree, and one side. Vegan options are available.

There are alcoholic beverages but also non-alcoholic options available if preferred or under 21. Keep in mind, programming and activities are not tailored to younger kids.

Enjoy a workshop that walks you through creating your own custom felt pennant. Workshop includes all instruction, supplies and materials (including floral felt, sequin felts and all kinds of other flair.)

You can become the designer. Choose your number of poms, size, color and hardware color to create the pom earrings you’ve been dreaming of.

There’s also a talk called Fight Like a Girl Empowerment Talk. Engage in a brief presentation to learn tips and best practices for self-defense.

The event is sold out but the organizers hope to do more so keep them on your radar.
