After volunteering at the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank for school, Bishop Dwenger senior William Luley decided he wanted to benefit their Beds4Kids program for his Eagle Scout project.

The program works to provide a new twin sized mattress, a platform bed, and bedding for kids in need.

For Luley’s collection drive, he asked for donations of new twin size sheets, blankets, and bed pillows. His goal for his project was to receive between 75 and 100 items. The amount he collected almost quadrupled his goal, totalling 397 donated items.

“We just blew past that goal like a wind storm,” said Luley. “It just feels like there’s a lot of good people in the world who actually know what kids who don’t have a bed are going through who are just sleeping on the floor so I’m glad they care so much to donate.”

All of the donated items will go to help kids in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells and Whitley counties.
