The incident happened in the area of C.R. 700 North and C.R. 650 East near Churubusco before noon.
Whitley County dispatchers told WANE 15 that the driver of a delivery van tried to drive through high water on the roadway and the van stalled. The driver stayed in the vehicle, called for help and had to be rescued, dispatchers said.
The Churubusco Fire Department said in a Facebook post that with all the rain the past few days, area roads are becoming flooded and impassible. The department reminded drivers to “TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN!”
