Dirk Rowley joins WANE as anchor

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne broadcast and radio veteran Dirk Rowley will join WANE-TV as news anchor.

Dirk will be teamed with longtime NewsChannel 15 anchor Terra Brantley and co-anchor NewsChannel 15’s top-rated 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts every weeknight.

Dirk moves over from the local ABC affiliate in Fort Wayne, where he’s worked as the host of a daily lifestyle show for the past four years. During that time, he’s interviewed and made connections with countless business, community, and non-profit leaders in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

He is best known as a long-time host of the popular “Majic in the Morning” radio show on local station WAJI, where Dirk spent 14 years helping Fort Wayne wake up every weekday morning. He’s spent the majority of his decades-long career in Fort Wayne, graduating with a degree in Broadcasting from nearby Taylor University.

Dirk will co-anchor NewsChannel 15’s First at Five, News at 6, and Nightcast at 11 p.m. weeknights with Terra Brantley, Chief Meteorologist Nicholas Ferreri, and Sports Director Glenn Marini. Together they form Fort Wayne’s most experienced news team.

“What a privilege to bring such a seasoned and committed Fort Wayne media VIP to WANE,” said NewsChannel 15 News Director Ted Linn. “Dirk loves Fort Wayne, loves this area and it shows. To team the depth of Dirk Rowley with the immense talents of Terra Brantley gives WANE the dream team on the news desk. I couldn’t be more excited about the future.”

“He’s been a staple of professionalism in Fort Wayne for more than 20 years,” said Terra Brantley of her new co-anchor. “He knows our community and our community trusts him. So do I. I’m looking forward to sharing the anchor desk with him as we launch NewsChannel 15 into a new era of delivering Coverage You Can Count On.”

Dirk adds that “anyone can see the commitment WANE-TV has to Fort Wayne. I’m excited to join a team that values local news and local people. I look forward to adding a new chapter with Terra to NewsChannel 15’s rich and winning tradition.”

“I am excited to welcome Dirk to the WANE-TV family, and look forward to having him alongside local legend Terra Brantley,” said WANE-TV Vice President and General Manager Tom Antisdel. “Dirk brings many years of media experience, community involvement, and leadership skills to NewsChannel 15.”

Dirk will join the NewsChannel 15 team and assume his anchor duties in mid-August.
