FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A popular Fort Wayne restaurant and bar is closing.
Calhoun Street Soups, Salads & Spirits - commonly known as CS3 - will close its eatery at 1915 S. Calhoun St. on Aug. 18, owner Donna Kessler confirmed to NewsChannel 15 on Wednesday. She said her lease had not been renewed.
All will not be lost, however.
Kessler said while CS3 will go away, she's focused on offering some of the popular items on the menu of D'lightfuls, a deli and tea room across the street from CS3 at 1932 S. Calhoun St. Kessler has been catering from D’Lightfuls since April.
Kessler said the owner of the building that houses CS3 plans to put another business in the location, but she did not say what those plans are.
Events scheduled at CS3's Tiger Room will be held until Aug. 18.
A lot of the regulars at the restaurant say it is a bummer to see CS3 close, but are open to going across the street to the new D'lightfuls.
However, the ambiance of the building will be missed, such as the exposed brick and old decor.
"I really like the historic building, if you go inside there's beautiful wood work, it's just a really charming space to eat and have conversations." Kathy Zoucha said.
