HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – The community is coming together to raise money after a fire damaged Huntington’s beloved Pizza Junction.

The Heart of Huntington, Huntington Downtown Business Association accepted donations Saturday to benefit the Pizza Junction family and staff. Those attending the ‘Music in the City’ event between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. could contribute to the cause with cash or credit.

There was visible damage to the roof and windows of the restaurant as fire crews in Huntington extinguished the flames Friday.

The fire started around 2 p.m. Flames could be seen coming from the side of the building. Crews were able to get the fire under control by 4:30 p.m. By 6 p.m., crews were packing up to leave.

Huntington Fire Department said they will release more about damages and the cause of the fire when they know more.

The restaurant, located in a former train station at 201 Court Street, is situated next to the Huntington County Historical Museum.
