The son of the Noble County sheriff was killed in a traffic crash in the county Thursday evening.
Police and medics were called just before 7 p.m. to the 10000 block of C.R. 415 North, just south of Kendallville, on a report of a single vehicle crash. There, responders found a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee had run off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 30-year-old Andrew D. Harp, the son of Noble Count Sheriff Doug Harp and retired department matron Renee Harp.
Multiple departments responded to the crash scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
