CP Holiday Train lit as is passes through the area

Local News

It was Christmas magic last night in Waterloo, where the faithful never doubted the Holiday Train.

The train has traveled through Waterloo for several years on its trek from Windsor to Chicago, gradually growing an audience of fans who parked and waited in their cars to see the beautifully lit train whiz past.

The train passed through the town complete with brightly-lit lights, despite company statements saying otherwise. The train was expected to come through Waterloo on its 20th annual trip to Chicago on November 30 after 10 p.m.

Norfolk Southern Railway announced a week ago that the Canadian Pacific train might remain “dark” due to concerns for safety.

WANE 15 has reached out to Canadian Pacific about the train lighting up.

Several dozen people gathered to see the train’s holiday lights.
