Coney Island closes ‘for the first time in history’ due to COVID

Local News

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — For more than a century, Coney Island has served hot dogs without fail.

Leave it to 2020 to disrupt things.

Coney Island has temporarily closed its Main Street wiener stand “due to a Covid compromise.” The eatery “painfully decided” to close for a few days, starting Monday.

The staff will spend the closure sanitizing and making minor repairs.
