After new Red River trash pickup routes were put in place in November. City Council is evaluating the company.
The city is giving Red River all of November and December to see how the new routes are working and then they will reevaluate at the first of the year.
After changing the routes for better collection they say the city says they have seen an improvement. The city reported that 98 percent of materials are getting collected weekly.
City Spokesman John Perlich said, “We’re still not where we want to be or where we expect red river to be, we feel we’re making improvements and we’re going to continue to evaluate and review their performance over the next month, as outlined by the working group.”
However that still leaves misses. For customeres like Jessica Welder, she says, “A company should be run with high standards and Red River just does not meet those standards.”
Councilman Jehl was not satisfied with the updated report from the city that he heard tonight about fines for Red River. Jehl said, “To not give credit back to the rate payer is an insult to the horrible service that the rate payer been paying for the entire year.”
