FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Citilink has installed commemorative seat in its buses to civil rights activist Rosa Parks.

Parks famously refused to surrender her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus to a white man on Dec. 1, 1955. Sixty years later, Citilink will officially dedicate seats in her honor on Tuesday in a special ceremony at the Fort Wayne Urban League along South Hanna Street.

The seats feature the message, “Dedicated to the memory of Rosa Parks” on a bold yellow seat back.

Betsy Kachmar, Citilink’s assistant general manager, said the seats will be permanently installed in about 30 of the transportation service’s 54 fleet buses.
