Christiana Danielle Knockout Voice

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) After Alicia Keys picked Terrence and saved Christiana Danielle, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine wanted their shot at the Fort Wayne singer, both using their steals. Christiana Danielle decided to stay with Keys.

“You always hope they’re going to press your button. Then you really have to come to peace with it in the moment. And then Alicia pressed the button and I was like oh good, good. Then Kelly pressed the button and I was like oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I am feeling super excited. I feel all the love, too.”

The audience learned a little bit more about her personal life Tuesday. Including a time back in high school when she was told she’d never sing again after a dangerous throat virus. “My throat ended up closing and I had to go into emergency surgery and the doctors said ‘is she a singer, is she a speaker?’ and my parents were like ‘well she sings, what’s going on?’ They said the surgery would leave permanent hoarseness on my throat and I wouldn’t be able to sing again.”

We also learned that other than singing in church, she’s never sang in a public setting outside of the school talent shows. She doesn’t gig and she’s used to singing only worship songs. “Coming on a show and singing all these new songs, you know, song choice is so important but it’s so different because I’ve never had to think about what song will I sing.”

Looking ahead, Christiana Danielle said she is preparing for playoffs, coming up with song ideas and of course outfit ideas. And she already has a strong support system back home in Fort Wayne. “They’ve all been so amazing and I’m so grateful. Every single time I go to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram I’m always seeing like ‘Fort Wayne love,’ ‘We love you from Fort Wayne’ and I’m just really overjoyed and I appreciate every single person who’s supporting me.”

The 22 year old is currently in Los Angeles and will stay there to compete. The live rounds will start in two weeks.
