A crash at the intersection of E. Washington Blvd. and Harmar Street closed lanes and took out power Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 5:45 p.m. on reports of a car crash into a utility pole. When they arrived they found the car upside down and the pole broken in the road.
The driver only suffered minor injuries.
Over 200 people were without power due to the downed pole. Crews from Indiana Michigan Power were called to the scene to help restore it.
All lanes are closed along E. Washington Blvd., west of Indiana Tech, as crews work to clear the scene. As of 10:00 p.m., utility crews were still working to fix the downed wires. It is unclear when the street will be back open.
