Police found a car that had rolled several times in a ditch off the east side of the northbound lanes of I-69 near the 333 mile marker in DeKalb County early Tuesday morning.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department the driver was not with the vehicle. However he turned up later at a Fort Wayne hospital.
Travis Ballard, 37, of Fort Wayne told police he lost control when he overcorrected after hitting the rumble strip just after 6:00 a.m.
Ballard said he got a ride to his house in Fort Wayne before a family member took him to a hospital for treatment of pain to his left arm.
His Nissan Versa was totaled in the crash.
The Waterloo Marshal’s Office, the DeKalb Department of Homeland Security and Indiana State Police assisted at the crash site.
