The president of Fort Wayne’s Downtown Economic Improvement District is resigning.
Bill Brown announced Friday plans to step down as head of the city center’s economic development agency. Brown said he had a desire for more time with family and to pursue personal projects.
“I’ve led from a position of facilitation and empowerment, and I am proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Brown.
Brown has overseen downtown beautification projects like Art This Way supported the Downtown Alley Activation Mural Project. He’s also provided leadership on initiatives like the organization’s Jointly Sponsored and Off-Season Events Contest.
A search for Brown’s replacement will begin in the coming months.
“Bill will be hard to replace,” said Miguel Trevino, board aecretary of the D.I.D. “We have all benefited immensely from Bill’s love of Downtown Fort Wayne and have excelled as an organization under his leadership.”
