Break in 15-year-old cold case killing

Local News

Joshua Salyer was killed 3 days before Thanksgiving in 2003.  After an argument over $30, he was shot. His body was found at a recycling plant the next morning.

Now after the suspect died of a drug overdose, an eyewitness has come forward.

Josh’s mother Debbie Argerbright told NewsChannel 15 it is bittersweet. Debbie said, “I always envisioned that someday they would catch who did it.  I would get to go to court, that I would get to look him in the eye and let him see the pain that he caused taking my son from me.”

Debbie said Josh was not just a son, but a father to a now 21-year-old who was only 7 when his dad was killed. She used the words big hearted and bright to describe her son. She said he would help anyone.

Police are working with prosecutors to solve this cold case but do not have any DNA, or other evidence to use.
