Boy donates piggy bank money to help Animal Care and Control

Local News

On Friday afternoon, Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control received a special donation from a young boy.

Harry Gallagher was watching a movie with his grandma, when they started talking about animal shelters. He was sad that some dogs and cats do not have homes during the holidays and he wanted to help.

“I took all the money in my piggy bank and donated it to the puppies and kitties.” said Gallagher.

His mom says he wanted to use all of the money out of his piggy bank at his grandmothers house. They counted it up and it totaled $20. When other family members heard about how he wanted to help, they matched his donation bringing it to $100.

Gallagher delivered his gift in person to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. He also got to meet some of the puppies and kitties his donation will help.
