Bears legend Singletary to speak at FCA Night of Hope

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary will speak at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Night of Hope event in May.

The annual event, which promises encouragement, hope, and inspiration, will be held Monday, May 13, at the Memorial Coliseum. Singletary will share his inspirational story of athletics and faith.

The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Groups are also welcome and can register together.

Singletary played middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears throughout the 1980s and became known as “The Heart of the Defense” and “Minister of Defense” for team nicknamed the “Monsters of the Midway.”  He was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 and 1988, and was later inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Singletary currently coaches the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football league.
