Local artist Julia Guerin, known for her Frankenfuzzy’s at The Paradigm Gallery, will exhibit her work in a large-scale solo show for the fisrt time ever this weekend.

Wunderkammer is set to host ‘Molting Migration’ from March 22nd through March 30th. The opening reception on Friday is from 6-9 p.m.

The exhibit will feature work Guerin has created in the past 10 years.

“The show’s name refers to the need for change and stimulation to keep us all present” says Guerin, “It represents the shedding of the old to make way for the new. To not only shed old art pieces but also old ways of thinking and being to make way for the true self.”

Along with her husband, Guerin will soon be downsizing from a family home to a 22 foot camper. They hope to explore the world and many new mediums.

All of Guerin’s work will be priced for them to migrate to new homes.

The exhibit will feature both large and small paintings, masks, Frankenfuzzies, screen printed bags and pillos, and ceramnic pendants that hold essential oils.

A donation of $2 is recommended at the art opening on Friday and a cash bar will be available. Wunderkammer is located at 3402 Fairfield Avenue.
