An Angola man is in serious condition after a crash in rural Jamestown Township, Steuben County.
Steuben County Sheriff’s responded to the crash just before 11:30 p.m. Friday night in the area of County Road 300 West, south of State Route 120.
Police say when they arrived, they found a van crashed into a tree, and the driver was still inside.
Police identified the driver as 35-year-old Jason Loy.
Loy was freed by the Fremont Fire Department’s Jaws of Life. He was then transported to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Investigators believe he was heading south on CR 300 W, when he veered off the east side of the road and hit both a mailbox and tree.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
