Allen County Public Library selling 50,000 books

Local News

A total of 50,000 books will be for sale next week at the Friends of the Allen County Public Library book sale. Visitors will be able to find a great summer read and support the library at the same time.

The sale is open to the public June 27th through 30th.

As a library, ACPL “weeds” their shelves to make room for new books or keep our collection fresh and relevant. People also donate books to the library and sometimes they end up in this type of sale

All types of books will be for sale including mystery, gardening, biography, children’s, sci-fi, and cookbooks. Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents.

This sale allows people to build their personal libraries for minimal cost. It also allows the library to continue the weeding process to keep their collection fresh and relevant.

The dollars raised benefit the Friends of the ACPL, which in turn support the library. Friends of the Library raise dollars to support library events and programs such as author visits, the Summer Learning Program, and community outreach.

The sale is Tuesday, June 26 5 p.m. through 8 p.m, Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28 from 10 a.m. though 7:00 p.m, Friday, and June 29 and Saturday, June 30 from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. General Public. Saturday is $5 Bag Sale: fill any bag for just $5.
