Allen County Llama Show back after 6 year hiatus

Local News

Are Llamas becoming the new dog? Man’s best friend? It would appear the recent trend of owning a llama isn’t slowing down. It’s been six years since the Allen County Llama Lovers held an open show.   This weekend, they brought it back to give it another go-around.

The Allen County Open Llama show is back in full effect with 120 llamas and 39 exhibitors from 20 farms in four states.

People traveled from all over Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan to show off the presentability of their llamas as well as take them through obstacle courses.

“Restarting a show is not always easy and it’s not always something people will always come back to,” said show organizer Timothy Smith. “We’ve had a wonderful turnout with our volunteers, our helpers, everything that helps makes this show a success has exceeded my expectations.”

Smith said he has every reason to believe there’ll be another show next year.
