Runners lined up to help the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
The Run White and Blue 5K at Foster Park raised money for NAMI. The group advocates for people affected by mental illness in the United States. They also provide a helpline to answer questions about mental health.
“Everyone needs support every once and a while, also for families, and also for folks who are living with a mental illness,” says Angela McMahon, with NAMI Fort Wayne.
Organizers say they hope to raise $10,000 from today’s 5K, but more importantly, they hope to raise awareness for mental illness.
