2nd grader redeems 'Golden Ticket', gets lunch with sheriff

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A LaGrange County second grade student was treated to lunch with LaGrange County Sheriff Jeff Campos after redeeming a "Golden Ticket" he received at a Halloween event in October.

Three of the tickets were randomly handed out at the fourth annual Halloween and Heroes held outside the LaGrange County Courthouse.  The event gives residents and youngsters in particular a chance to meet and visit with police officers, firefighters, EMTs, 911 dispatchers and other emergency responders while dressed up in Halloween costumes.

Lucas Swanson, a student at Meadowview Elementary School, was given one of the tickets and he chose to have lunch at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana.

The other two tickets have yet to be redeemed and if a parent knows their child received one, they should contact the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department so Sheriff Campos can schedule a day for lunch.
