2 killed after driver runs stop sign in Whitley County

Two people are dead after a crash in Whitley County early Saturday morning. 

Police were called to Johnson Road and County Road 150 North around 12:30 a.m. When they arrived they found the car crashed into a tree. 

Investigators say the car was going west on C.R. 150 N when the driver ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed and lost control. The car then went off the road and hit a tree on the driver’s side. 

Both the driver, 33 year-old Heather Jackson of Fort Wayne, and passenger, 28-year-old Kenneth Baker of Fort Wayne were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The crash is under investigation.
