Two people are safe after jumping off the roof of their burning home in Angola.
Fire crews from mulitple departments were called out at 4:51 p.m. to a home on the 4700 block of W. U.S. 20, west of I-69 near the Tri-State Steuben Airport.
The two people inside were able to escape after passerbys helped them jump off the roof and catch them.
When fire crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the second floor of the home. According to viewer Saness Davison, she could see the billowing smoke from when she got off of I-69.
It took crews about an hour to get the fire under control. While they were working, nearby Domino’s Pizza and McDonald’s supplied food for the firefighters.
Two people suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
