The 122nd Fighter Wing will perform a fly-over above Notre Dame Stadium ahead of Saturday’s game between the Fighting Irish and the  Vanderbilt Commodores, WANE 15 has learned. The base said Friday a formation of A-10C Thunderbolt II aircrafts will pass over the stadium during the National Anthem as part of the pre-game festivities.

It will be the 122nd’s first fly-over at Notre Dame since 2004.

Aaron Pence, the 122nd’s public affairs officer, said the wing was “honored” to perform the fly-over.

“This flyover represents the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the 122nd Fighter Wing,” said Pence. “We are proud to serve our state and nation.”
