1 critical in 3-vehicle crash Monday afternoon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - One person was critically hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on Fort Wayne's northwest side Monday afternoon.

Police and medics were called around 4 p.m. to the intersection of Dupont and Fritz roads, 2 1/2 miles west of Lima Road/S.R. 3. Dispatchers would only say there was a critical injury crash there.

At the scene, police said three vehicles collided when a white car failed to stop and rear-ended a pickup, which then rear-ended an SUV and pushed it into a ditch.

The drivers of the SUV and pickup were not hurt in the crash, but the driver of the white car was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said. Police have not identified any of the victims.

Police were using a drone to study the crash.
