IPFW starts hot but cooled down as Kentucky wins, 86-67

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WANE) – The Dons hoped for deja vu all over again. It didn’t happen.

Exactly a year to the day that IPFW upset Indiana at Memorial Coliseum, they faced the 8th ranked Kentucky Wildcats at historic Rupp Arena. The Wildcats zone stifled the Dons in the second have as Kentucky wins, 86-67.

Fort Wayne actually led late in the first half, 37-36. They hit eight threes but then Wildcats head coach John Calipari put his team in a zone and it slowed down the Dons momentum. After a hot start, Fort Wayne went on a stretch where they only made 1-of-15 from beyond the arc.

The Dons face ETSU on Saturday.
