The National Weather Service says a winter storm is expected to bring snowfall to all of Indiana this weekend.

The weather service in Indianapolis says snow is forecast to begin falling Friday night and continue through Saturday night over the state. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are projected to fall over central Indiana and into southwestern Indiana.

The weather service says lesser amounts are forecast for parts of northern Indiana .

Snow could mix with rain over Indiana’s southern counties as the winter storm system moves from the southwestern U.S. and pushes across the region.

Forecasters say the snowfall amounts may change with any deviations in the strength and path of that storm system.
