A vehicle crashed on the Indiana Toll Road in LaPorte County after police said a pumpkin tossed from an overpass slammed through its windshield.
Now, police are searching for the culprit.
The situation happened around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday near LaPorte, five miles east of the Michigan City exit. According to an Indiana State Police report, a pumpkin was tossed off North Goldring Road overpass onto Toll Road.
The squash crashed through the driver’s side windshield of an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet driven by a 64-year-old Michigan woman and struck her. The woman then crashed into a ditch, police said.
The woman suffered only minor injuries.
Indiana State Police said this is the second such incident at the location and the third in the area this month. All three incidents happened between around 8:45 p.m. and midnight, police said.

Tossing anything from an overpass can lead to a a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Mischief or a felony charge of Overpass Mischief is a victim is hurt, police said.
