State police seeking information in Cass County deaths

WALTON, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana State Police are looking for answers after two men were found dead on a road just south of Walton in Cass County.

Officers responded to U.S. 35, north of County Road 800 South around 6:30 Tuesday night. That's about 30 miles southwest of Wabash.

When police got there, they found Zachary Wines, 26, Walton, and Bryan Curry, 52, Valparaiso, dead in the roadway.

Police said preliminary evidence indicated a northbound vehicle had hit the men.

It's not clear why Wines and Curry were in the roadway. Two vehicles, which investigators believe were driven by the men were found parked on the east side of U.S. 35. Both engines were running when police found them.

Autopsies will be conducted on Wines and Curry to determine exact causes and manners of death.

Police advised this is an ongoing investigation, and they're asking for the public's help. Indiana State Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call the Peru Post at 765-473-6666.
