Traffic along Interstate 65 in Lake County was hampered early Monday after a semi lost control and rolled over.
Around 5 a.m, a 2012 Kenworth headed southbound lost control for an unknown reason and rolled over into the grassy area on the left side of the interstate. The semi was pulling a box trailer loaded with aluminum bars.
The driver of the semi – Victor Salazar, 37 of Lincoln Park, Michigan – was taken to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point for non-life threatening injuries.
The semi’s tractor and trailer were damaged, and the concrete on I-65 was chipped, state police said.
The left lane of the interstate was closed until just before 8 a.m., when both lanes were reopened.
