BUNKER HILL, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police say investigators suspect foul play in the death of an inmate at the Miami Correctional Facility.

Police say prison staff found 70-year-old Lannie Morgan of South Bend unresponsive in his cell about 9:40 a.m. Monday. An ambulance was summoned for Morgan, but he died before reaching a local hospital.

Police are treating the death as a homicide. An autopsy has been conducted and results are pending.

Morgan had been incarcerated within the Indiana Department of Correction since December 2011 on two counts of Child Molestation and one count of Incest. He was looking at a September 2036 release date.

The Miami Correctional Facility is located near Bunker Hill, about 60 miles north of Indianapolis.
