A traffic stop on I-70 led to the seizure of six pounds of heroin Tuesday morning.
Indiana State Police pulled over a gold Chevrolet Equinox for following a car too close on I-70 near the 41 mile marker, just north of Cloverdale around 10:00 a.m.
The driver was identified as 21-year-old Joshua Gomez of San Diego. A K9 unit was called and allerted officers to an illegal substance. As they searched the vehicle, officers found about 6.2 pounds of heroin, worth about $225,000, that was being transported from California to Ohio.
Gomez was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail. He was charged with both Dealing Heroin and Possession of Heroin.
