A man whose car collided with a semitrailer on an Indianapolis interstate has been killed by a second vehicle as he walked across the roadway.
State police say the man was struck about 6 a.m. Friday on Interstate 465. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation shows the man and the truck driver pulled their vehicles to the side of the road. He then walked across the freeway’s two left lanes where he was hit. The driver of the car that struck him has been hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police say the left two lanes of I-465 were closed about three hours Friday after the crashes.
