A 37-year-old Indianapolis man has been found guilty of murder in the 2017 slaying of a woman who was stabbed more than 30 times and shot in her home on the east side of the city.

The Indianapolis Star reports that Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced that a jury this week found Karl Woodall guilty of murdering 37-year-old Stefanie Coulson.

During the trial, prosecutors contended that Woodall became angry when he realized Coulson had taken his van while he slept and shot her in the head and neck and stabbed her repeatedly when she returned. He was arrested three days later while driving the van.

Woodall, who is charged with murder in another 2017 slaying , is scheduled to return to court for sentencing April 10.
