Dog reunited with owners after fleeing interstate crash

HOBART, Ind. (WANE) - A Husky that ran off after the vehicle it was riding in crashed on I-65 in northwest Indiana was reunited with its owners more than a day later thanks to a Facebook post.

The single vehicle crash took place Saturday at around 9 a.m. at the 253 mile marker near the U.S. 30 interchange and the dog was last seen running in the direction of the Crown Point exit.

The owners posted on Facebook that their dog was lost along with the location where it was last seen.

Sunday morning at around 9 a.m. someone who had seen the Facebook post spotted the dog walking along I-65 near the 251 mile marker.

A trooper in the area attempted to catch the dog, however every time the trooper got close, she would run away.

The owners were then contacted and they met the trooper in the area where the dog was seen.

The trooper was able to guide the dog along a ditch where she eventually saw her owners and ran to them in what was a very happy reunion.
