Crash on I-69 near Anderson closes southbound lanes for hours

The southbound lanes of I-69 near Anderson were closed for several hours Tuesday evening after a box truck hauling a car overturned and caught fire according to Indiana State Police.

The crash took place at around 5:45 p.m. at the 223 mile marker when the truck ran off the right side of the highway and went over an embankment.

The driver of the truck and a passenger got out with only minor injuries. 

Southbound traffic had to be rerouted onto State Road 109 at the 226 mile marker.

The lanes were reopened just after 11 p.m.
