Amber Alert canceled for southeast Indiana teenage girl


The Indiana State Police Department has canceled an Amber Alert for a teen from southeast Indiana at the request of the New Albany Police Department. 

Carrie May Pettay is a 17-year-old girl who went missing from New Albany, Indiana. That’s outside of Louisville, Kentucky.

Police initially issued the alert around 3:30 a.m. Thursday after Pettay went missing around midnight. 

The alert was canceled just after 4 a.m. 

It’s not clear yet why police canceled the alert.
