Indiana’s new hands-free law goes into effect on Wednesday. Drivers will have to put their phone away or utilize hands-free technology, or face a citation and up to a $500 fine.

Indiana State Police said drivers are 400 times more likely to get into an crash if they’re using a cellphone. In the video above, the agency offers more information about the new law.
