FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A rare 1929 New Standard biplane is flying Fort Wayne skies.
The biplane was brought to Smith Field by Waldo Wright’s Flying Service. The open cockpit, four-seat biplane is one of only eight flying in the world.
The flying service will offer rides in the biplane as well as a vintage 1943 T-6 Texan Warbird on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Smith Field. Tickets are $75 for a 10-12 minute flight.
NewsChannel 15 photojournalist Cody Murphy and digital content producer Cory Schmidt took a flight in the classic biplane on Friday.
