Fire leaves back of tour bus fully engulfed in flames

The tour bus on I-69 was under control by 7:37 a.m.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A tour bus carrying 30 passengers on its way to Detroit, Michigan caught on fire while driving down I-69.

Dispatchers received a call at 7:12 a.m. on September 3 regarding the fire. The Waterloo Fire Department was sent to the area of the 333-mile marker to extinguish the fire on a tour bus, the back of which had been fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was under control by 7:37 a.m.

The driver of the bus reported that fire had been caused by a tire blowout. The actual cause of the fire is unknown.

DeKalb County Schools brought a bus to transport the passengers to Auburn. No was hurt in the fire.
