FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Dozens attended the final meeting to give their input into the future of the General Electric campus near downtown.

There have been three meetings in total with dozens of people at each one. During the meetings people work in small groups deciding what’s most important to them and how they’d like to see it developed. Most would like to see some sort of development there soon and they’d like to see the buildings preserved, according to a group facilitator.

“They want a location that can kind of add to other things that Fort Wayne has. We have a great children’s zoo. We have the embassy and there’s all sorts of things. They just want to create another place where people outside of Fort Wayne to draw them into the city,” group facilitator Zack Kaylor said.

Most everyone agreed on thing throughout the three meetings – they don’t want to see all the buildings torn down to create a clean slate.

The information from all three meetings will be put together in a report that will then be sent on to Greater Fort Wayne Inc..
