Two people were arrested on various drug charges after an Indiana State Trooper witnessed a lit cigarette thrown out the window of a car. 

The arrests took place this past Sunday morning in Monroe County after the trooper pulled the car over on State Road 46.

The driver had a suspended license and two of the passengers were wanted on warrants out of Monroe County.

A search of the car turned up 22 syringes and after being taken to the Monroe County Jail, the two passengers were found to be carrying meth.

Keith A. Leighton, 26, of Bloomington was arrested on probation warrants, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and two counts of trafficking with an inmate. 

Christina Hale, 29, of Bloomington was arrested on probation warrants, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, false identity statement and false informing.
