FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A woman was killed in a shooting in a northeast-side neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Police and medics were called around 5:10 p.m. to the 1900 block of Clarmarnic Drive, in the Kingston Park neighborhood near the intersection of North Coliseum and East State boulevards.

At the scene, officers found a woman in the driveway of a home at 1921 Clarmarnic Drive suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Paramedics arrived to the scene a short time later a pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police spokesman John Chambers told WANE 15 that witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored SUV leave the scene. A hit-and-run involving a dark-colored SUV was reported in the area, but the vehicle was empty when police made it to that scene so it’s not clear if it tied to the shooting or not.

Chambers said a male is suspected in the shooting, but could not provide any additional information.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the victim as 22-year-old Amanda L. Hoglund of Fort Wayne. An autopsy found she died of multiple gunshot wounds and her death was ruled a homicide.

Investigators ask for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may provide information to assist them to contact the detective bureau at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP.

The incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
