Police in Steuben County say a 14-year old boy from Ohio crashed a stolen Chevy Tahoe early Wednesday morning causing a power outage.
The crash took place at around 2:25 a.m. after deputies with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint about stolen vehicles. They went to the area of Golden Lake Road south of U.S. 20 along with officers from the Angola Police Department.
As they were checking the area for the stolen vehicles, a Chevy Tahoe matching the description of one of the stolen vehicles drove by.
The Tahoe crashed into a utility pole a short time later, causing a power outage.
The driver, who turned out to be the 14-year-old, was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated.
He was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment and was released later that day.
The other stolen vehicle was also recovered.
Not other information was released.
