FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The man who left another man critically hurt from a stab wound in the parking lot of a crematorium just after midnight on New Year's Day has been sentenced.
Cody A. Stinson, 23, of Woodburn, was sentenced in Allen Superior Court to 66 years for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and being a Habitual Offender.
A jury found Stinson guilty of the charges last month.
It was just after midnight on New Year's Day when police and medics were called to the parking lot of a crematorium in the 2300 block of West Main Street. There, responders from 22-year-old Mark Allen McVay of Uniondale in a car suffering from stab wounds.
Paramedics took McVay to a hospital in critical condition.
Stinson was taken into custody just after the stabbing.
